Getting back to basics

It is amazing how we allow important gifts of nature to lose ground in our lives. Recent events in my life have brought me back to the simple and curative properties of herbs.
What I learned, quite a few years ago, was the incredible properties of herbs available in so many different format. Just eating small meals frequently, juicing fresh veggies and fruits, using herbal teas and living well can make such a difference in your life, as it did in mine.

I suppose the easy way out- for example, take a pill and sleep when you have insomnia- makes sense in the moment but truthfully, covering up on-going issues with a short term solution just creates and perpetuates a chronic problem.

I am all for melding modern and ancient remedies when they work synergistically. Caring for our body’s day to day health is worth it.  Take a little time to see how adding a few simple herbal products to your daily routine will help.  Use the services of a trained practitioner if you are unsure.
Sometimes the miracle is found directly from the earth!

Cell phones with a view

Well I took the almighty plunge and bought a new phone. When I bought my last one, it was already obsolete but looked like a manageable tool to my eyes. I could write on the screen which was a bonus.  I had a palm for years before that and loved it.
I am not into the iPhone although it is lovely. I fell in love with the HTC brand because I love the android market and tools or I suppose the word is ‘Apps’. Each to his own.

Most retailers help you to sort through your needs so that the phone meets your personal criteria. Nothing will ever do it all, but most important for me was the need for a screen which I could see without glasses.

The ideal would be a tablet. There are quite a few coming out on the market shortly. Are you anxious to get one? I am! But, I am waiting, biding my time checking to see which one will be best for my needs. In the meantime, I hope I have a phone whose battery will last longer than 12 hours and one which allows me to see without having to put on the glasses.

Second chance

Just to close off my love affair with the King’s Speech, I have to say that I had another opportunity to see the movie and read the book. Both were just as compelling the second time around as the first. I watched it with my hubby who knows the story. I must say it is inspiring all over again. Colin firth is his own man here and looking very kingly. He looks nothing like George VI but has his own majesty. I am also happy to say, I missed nothing the first time around because the story is so well crafted and presented. This will be my last post on this movie but not the last on Colin Firth, I hope. He is delicious.

The Will to be True

Our Web master has created a page for my book on the Discover the Path website. Amazing that she has been with us for well over ten years. I know there is an explosion of people on the web these days but back in the nineties, not so long ago really but long in terms of computer, it was rare to find a woman working on these projects. Ag has been a pioneer. Anyway, she keeps things simple in a world where fancy action seem to draw the crowds but really simple has worked for us. So I thank her for doing a consistently clean, clear and precise job on presenting both my book and our work space to the public.
